Matazem-Bamenda section: soon to be rehabilitated by Bun’s company.

It is after the identification of potential break points and with the aim of avoiding traffic disruptions on the Matazem-Bamenda section; that Emmanuel NGANOU DJOUMESSI, Minister of Public Works and Contracting Authority instructed the mobilisation of Bun’s company, the successful bidder for the contract to carry out rehabilitation works on this section.
Thus, this Thursday, July 14, 2022, Bun’s company is effectively mobilized between Matazem and Bamenda in order to meet the expectations of the Owner with regard to the treatment of critical points and the pavement in this rainy season to ensure the movement of people and goods.
It should be noted that contracts for the execution of works on two other sections of the Babadjou-Bamenda road have just been signed. On the Matazem-Welcome to Bamenda section, lot 2, a contract awarding the work was signed in favour of Bun’s, while the work on the Bamenda bypass was awarded to Bofas; both Cameroonian companies. Only one section is currently awaiting award.
It should be noted that since the departure of the Soge-Satom company, the project owner had proposed a reorganisation of the project which favours an allotment in four sections: Babadjou-Matazem (17km), Matazem-Welcome Bamenda (18km), Bamenda cliff bypass (4.930km) and the urban section (urban crossing) which extends over 11.990km. For the urban crossing of Bamenda, a new component of the project, studies are underway. On the Babadjou-Bamenda section, the general progress rate of works is about 11.3%, with a remarkable mobilisation of Bun’s on site.
