The discovery of the political capital of Cameroon, Yaounde.

Yaounde, the town of seven hills is the political capital of Cameroon, the capital of the central  region and finally the chief department of Mfoundi.

Yaounde was founded on the 17th of February 1889 by the Germans. First of all as a station for botanic and agricultural research, later a military station and finally a district in 1905. The choice of this site was guided by the fertility of the soil, favourable climate and the hospitality of the Beti people who had as chief, ESSON ELA. Yaounde for the first time became the capital of Cameroon in 1915.

                Yaounde today has seven departments.
